// Toyota & Lexus

Techstream access, at a sane price.

Toyota’s dealer software is Techstream, and it talks through a standard J2534 pass-through interface. That standardisation is good news: you do not need exotic hardware, you need the right J2534 cable.

Why J2534 is the right standard here

J2534 is an SAE pass-through specification, which means the interface is generic and the intelligence lives in the OEM software. Toyota embraced it, so a correct J2534 cable plus Techstream gives you what the dealer bay gives you: every module, live data, active tests, and the service functions that generic scanners refuse to touch.

What it is used for

Hybrid battery block voltages and health data — the reason a lot of Prius and Auris owners buy one. Beyond that: zero-point calibration after suspension work, steering angle reset, brake bleed for ABS/VSC, injector compensation codes, TPMS registration, maintenance light resets, and immobiliser key registration.

Coverage

Toyota and Lexus across the modern range, including hybrid systems. Very old pre-CAN Toyotas need older protocols and are the usual exception.

Questions

Where does Techstream come from?
Techstream is Toyota software licensed through Toyota. We supply the J2534 interface hardware only.
Can I read hybrid battery cells?
Yes — individual block voltages and hybrid health data are exactly what this setup exposes, and it is one of the most common reasons people buy it.
Does it register keys?
Key registration is supported on many models, sometimes requiring an online seed/key step depending on year.
