// Renault & Dacia

Renault and Dacia, at dealer level.

Renault built its own diagnostic world, and generic OBD tools sit outside it. If you own or work on Renaults, the marque interface is not a luxury — it is the only thing that reaches the modules that actually fail.

What the marque interface reaches

Every ECU on the car rather than the engine alone: injection, ABS, airbag, UCH/body computer, climate, instrument cluster, steering angle, parking sensors. That matters on Renaults specifically because the UCH sits at the centre of so many faults — immobiliser behaviour, lighting, central locking, wipers — and a generic scanner cannot see it at all.

The jobs people buy it for

Injector flow coding after replacement (a dCi essential — skip it and the engine runs badly), DPF regeneration and learned-value resets, EPB service mode for rear pads, airbag fault clearing after a seat swap, key and card programming, and reading the fault memory properly before spending money on parts.

Which interface

The VCX Nano Renault is the modern multi-brand VCI for this job — it speaks the Renault protocols and runs with your own licensed OEM software, which is where the dealer-level functions live. It is the successor to the older clip-style interface and covers the CAN-era range broadly.

Questions

Does it cover Dacia?
Yes. Dacia shares Renault architecture and the same diagnostic stack — Sandero, Duster, Logan and the rest.
Can it do injector coding?
Yes, and on a dCi that is one of the main reasons to own it. Fitting injectors without coding the flow values leaves the engine running poorly.
How far back does coverage go?
Broadly from the early-2000s CAN cars forwards. Very old pre-CAN Renaults are limited.
