// Opel, Vauxhall & GM

Opel and Vauxhall, all modules.

Opels are cheap to buy and, with the right interface, cheap to keep. Without one they are frustrating — the faults that strand people are usually in modules a generic scanner never sees.

Where Opel faults actually live

The engine ECU is rarely the interesting part. Opel problems cluster in the body control module, the electric power steering, the ABS unit, the instrument cluster and the CIM steering column module. A €10 dongle reads the engine and tells you nothing about any of those. The marque interface reads them all.

Common jobs

Service and oil-life reset, EPB retract for rear pads, steering angle calibration after a track alignment, EGR and DPF learned-value resets, injector coding on the CDTi engines, airbag fault clearing, and reprogramming a replacement BCM or cluster so the car accepts it.

Older versus newer

OP-COM is the long-standing answer for the Vectra/Astra/Corsa CAN era and remains excellent value. Newer GM platforms moved to GDS2 and Tech2Win, which is where the VCX Nano GM interface comes in — same job, current software stack.

Questions

Astra H and Corsa D?
Yes — that generation is exactly the OP-COM sweet spot, with full module coverage.
Will it work on a new Opel?
Post-PSA-takeover Opels share PSA architecture; for those, our PSA interface is the correct tool.
Vauxhall as well?
Same cars, different badge. Everything applies.
